I love words. I enjoy communicating A LOT. But I'm not a good speller. I grew up with a mother who can spell just about anything, an older brother who is a great speller too. Then there's me - truly rotten. Needless to say, growing up games like
scrabble,
boggle, and keyword didn't spell out a night of fun. (I cannot find a link for keyword! It must not be very popular.)
When I moved a year ago to the goat farm I live on now, I was delighted to learn that everyone there played games! New games were introduced, like
Flinch,
Rummikub and many more. Old games that I love were played, like
Sorry!,
Poker,
Speed.... But there is a favorite played often, my all time worst game ever.
Scrabble! We even play a variation called
Speed Scrabble.
One day while eating lunch I took the squares out and had some fun.

I started with vindicated and vulnerable. Lynn stopped by to see what I was doing and asked if I meant anything by it. |
After a year, I'm still not a good speller. I still get a little nervous when playing scrabble with Forest (who is a GREAT speller.) And yet, I think I've learned to enjoy not being perfect and can now just play the game!
